Fabric in latest House Beautiful

foto from House Beautiful and www.quadrillefabrics.com

It´s such a treat to get House Beautiful every month and get inspired by all the gorgeous interiors they publish in every issue. This month they featured a beautiful blue bedroom with one of Quadrille´s fabrics on the sofa and Lulu DK´s wonderful sheets on the bed. Both available through K & Co.

For samples and pricing, please contact my showroom or visit the shop for a closer look.

I am counting down the days until I am sitting on the plane on my way to NY. I have already booked up my whole week with meetings during the day and dinners with friends at night. I can´t wait!

Happening now..

The past couple of weeks have been exciting as I have had two seperate meetings with potential clients in the city. I think both projects would be really interesting as one is a bit more traditional and the other is a little more contemporary in feeling. The contemporary project is a full on design project where the owner would like to re-design the entire duplex apartment and add to their collection of great Danish modern design pieces. I am really excited about the possibilies of working on both of them and am in the process of working out a proposal for each. I´ll keep my fingers crossed..

Object of desire

I love everything with a greek key pattern and recently fell in love with this chic coffee table that resembles the design. I´d love this in my living room...

Pic of the week..

It´s no secret that I love black and white in decorating, so it may not be a surprise that some of my favorite animals are black and white too. My absolute favorite animal when I was a kid was the great Panda and after a trip to South Africa, the beautiful Zebra came a close second. I was lucky to see tons and tons of Zebras while we were on safari and one day I´d love to go to China and see a great Panda.

Sunburst mirror as seen in Sköna Hem

One day a really lovely couple came by the shop and started picking out some things for their apartment in Stockholm and finally said that it was going to be featured in one of the big design magazines in Sweden. They bought my sunburst mirror, an embroidered New York pillow and some beautiful smaller decorative items that they were going to scatter throughout the apartment. It´s fun to see how ones´s products look in other environments and the mirror really looked gorgeous in their living room. The pillow ended up on an upholstered chair in their daughters bedroom and despite having a lot of pattern in itself, actually worked really well on the Manhattan print from Josef Frank.
The owner of the apartment was so smitten by the mirror that she came back a few weeks later and bought another one, in a similar style.

Gwyneths fashion tips!

A guide to putting it all together. Thanks Gwyneth!!

If only I had the wardrobe (and the body)...

Glorious Gwyneth

Stunningly beautiful, fashionable, incredibly put together, and just seems like an all around very lovable person. Gwyneth seems to really have it all. An international address (living in both London and New York), a beautiful family (my god, just look at her husband), a great career, incredible fashion sense, and to boot, a cool website that dishes out newsletters to happy subscribers such as myself. How in the world does she do it?
She writes about everything from clothes, hip restaurants and travel destinations, workouts and diets to babies and raising a happy family. I am super impressed.
Have a look at www.goop.com... you´ll love it!

Finally Friday

I am a little beat, to be honest. It´s been a long day and I was faced with some annoying issues today which, I am glad, are finally over. But at last.. it´s friday, and I have a lovely boyfriend at home who sent me a text saying he´s making a beef stew for dinner and has wine waiting.. what is better than that? I feel very lucky.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

K

Pic of the week..

It´s still snowing in Sweden and it seems like spring and summer will never be here, so I wanted to post a picture of something tropical and warm. At the moment, my father is visiting an old friend in the Philippines and while there also checking out the home furnishings trade show in hopes of stumbling upon some gorgeous accessories that could fit in with the look of my shop. I am lucky to have such a supportive father (and mother, who is here with me in Stockholm working in the shop while he´s over there).

I hope he comes back with some goodies.
