Super store decor!

Men´s shop in Soho.

Men´s Shop in Tribeca

3 photos above from the Men´s shop on Madison
The beautiful bridal shop on the Upper East Side

"Fall.. makes me want to buy school supplies" ... said Tom Hanks in one of my all time favorite movies, You´ve got Mail!

Fall... makes me want to run to J.Crew and buy stacks of crisp button down shirts, warm and cozy cashmere sweaters (in all imaginable colors) and a pair of slightly worn, nicely fit blue jeans. Throw on a classic pea coat and boots and you´re good to go. (makes me sound very 90´s but I bet they have a version of the classic pea coat left in their collection). I love J. Crew and besides their phenomenal sense of style in clothes (thanks Jenna Lyons) they have really done well with the whole brand in terms of all around design presentation and concept.

J. Crew has expanded their store locations in Manhattan and opened up several specialty Men´s Stores across town as well as a beautiful Bridal Boutique on the Upper East Side.
Most recently, a new mens shop on Madison Avenue opened up where the fashion giant took over an old two story bank. Apparently inspired by the Alps they created a Chalet like atmosphere with wood panels and cozy interiors, comfortable for anyone to stay a while and shop.
So all you New Yorkers out there... hurry over and have a look!

Rooting for Rue Magazine

Love, love, love this new online magazine. As with all my American decorating magazines I am just the happiest girl alive when a new issue comes out. Now I am the happy subscriber to two fabulous online magazines which is terrific since 1) it´s free... and 2) they are two of the best sources for inspirational images and decorating tips.

Have a look and I guarantee you´ll be hooked...

Gold rush

gilded x-base bench
Taylor Llorente console table with granite top

Gilded paper bowls by Up in the air somewhere
Cute stackable rings

Jazz it up with gold technology

My favorite gold "mens watch for women" by Michael Kors.. definitely on my wish list

Beautiful china from the talented Kelly Wearstler
Golden necklace by one of my favorite designers Herve Van Straeten
I love the depth of this mirror.. black and gold combo

Double chain occasional table. Love it!
Brass wall sconces from 1st Dibs
Fenomenal design. Love this bookshelf!!

Gold is not one of those things you can say the more the merrier.... at least not in my opinion. But add the right amount of golden accessories or furniture and you have a killer accent in any room or outfit.

Here are some of my favorites....

A book by Brian´s former boss and mentor, the legendary Albert Hadley

My dear friend, former boss, and amazing interior designer, Brian McCarthy had a very special birthday the other day! As a tribute to him I wanted to share with you some photos from his gorgeous apartment on 57th street in Manhattan. These photos along with a charming Q/A with Brian, were featured on New York Social Diaries a few years ago. His apartment is a true reflection of his personal style, passion for design and love for contemporary art and photography. Brian is such a true gentleman and was an amazing mentor for me. I was very lucky to work for him and to learn the world of decorating from the very very best.

I wish you a happy happy Birthday Brian!! .... I miss you dearly!

So pretty!

I love Chinoiserie and this wallpaper is just to die for. Super pretty!! The sunburst mirror looks pretty darn good on it too! Wouldn´t this be amazing in a little bedroom??

I´m not sure where you can buy the wallpaper but the mirrors are available through K & Co.
